About Us

Farm Sustainability Readiness Tool provides farmers with information and resources to support farm-level sustainability decisions.

It was developed by a working group of four crop commissions, Alberta Barley, Alberta Canola, Alberta Pulse Growers and the Alberta Wheat Commission, in conjunction with Alberta Agriculture and Forestry. The tool was produced in partnership with Groupe AGÉCO, a consulting firm specialized in economic studies and corporate social responsibility with in-depth knowledge of the Canadian agriculture sector.

Farm Sustainability Readiness Tool is brought to you by:

Alberta barley
Alberta Barley is a farmer-directed, not-for-profit organization representing Alberta’s barley farmers. Alberta Barley collects a mandatory but refundable check-off and reinvests it to grow the barley industry and its profitability. The organization works collaboratively within all levels of agriculture to achieve tangible results that benefit Alberta’s barley growers. www.albertabarley.com
Alberta pulse
The Alberta Pulse Growers Commission represents 6 000 growers of field pea, dry bean, lentil, chickpea, faba bean and soybean in Alberta. Our vision is to have Alberta pulses recognized by consumers as environmentally friendly, healthy and nutritious and by all producers as an essential element in a sustainable cropping system. albertapulse.com
Alberta canola
The Alberta Canola Producers Commission is the province’s first refundable check-off producer organization. The mandate of Alberta Canola is to increase the long-term profitability of Alberta canola growers through research, consumer and producer education programs and policy development. albertacanola.com
